Australia Day Awards - Nebo Emergency Services

Date: Australia Day - 26th January 2022

At Champ we are all about local business and our local community.

We are proud to have people in our team that live out these values both at work and in their personal lives.

Cherry Paine is our Site Administrator on our Waitara Rail Project based in Nebo. She also has a corporate role within the business – Integrated Management System Coordinator (IMC) and has been a valued member of the Champ Team for over 3.5 years. Cherry also holds a key role in the Nebo Community Emergency Services, serving as Group Leader of Isaac Region SES - Nebo Group.

This Australia Day, Nebo Community Emergency Services were the recipients of Isaac Region 2022 Australia Day Group Achievement Medallion. They were also nominated for Community Event of the Year.

Their nominations and awards came from their tireless community work they conduct and for hosting the very first Nebo Emergency Services Display Day, where the 4 major Nebo Emergency Response teams along with QFES, CQ Rescue, RACQ and RAAG came together at the Nebo Community Sports & Recreation Club to show case all their vehicles, and their teams, for a community awareness and display day.

Brought together with a Water Slide, all kids (big and small), had a ball. RFS crews were hosing down the community with not only their trucks but their firefighting backpack & their community spirit! They even had a Mascot Race!

Together, as one, they work seamlessly to ensure their community is safe and looked after.

Well done Cherry and the entire Emergency Services team for their continued support to our communities.
